I'll stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two time world boxing king Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the novice remains one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional face-off, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly happening.
